Host

A popular and well-known performer at Phinney Farrm, Baritone Mike Heitmann returns to Groupmuse Seattle for the West Coast debut of his new program, Arie per Chitarra. Mike will perform his unique blend of popular arias and art songs in traditional renditions, with a few new twists on some of the greatest music ever written.

Ample street parking is available. Metro #5 or #44. Our house is high off the street and it's thirty steps to the front door. Attendees will be asked to make a donation (minimum $10) all of which goes to the musician. Please bring any drinks and snacks you'd like to share.

Note: Please do not arrive early unless you have a special need and have communicated with me. Both hosts and musicians require preparation and set up time. The start time (7:30) means that is the time you should arrive, and you can expect the program will start slightly later. Thanks for your consideration.

What's the music?

Mike Heitmann returns to Phinney Farrm for his 9th performance to perform Arie per chitarra, a solo recital featuring voice and guitar versions of opera hits. It will feature the music of Mozart, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Purcell, Offenbach, and more. Some of the arrangements will sound fairly close to the originals, but be ready for fresh, wild, and fun takes on old favorites. To see promotional videos and information about the show, you can visit his singer page on Facebook @mikeheitmannmusic

Baritone Mike Heitmann has a wide array of experience in classical music, opera, and jazz. He's spent the majority of his career in Seattle, and worked for most of the major companies in the area, including Seattle Opera in the chorus, and as a principal singer in their educational tours. He also has performed all over the country, most recently in NYC, all over the South, and Inland Northwest. His passion is making opera and classical music accessible to the masses by performing innovative, non-traditional programs that aren't like what most people expect classical music to be.
