This is a livestreaming Groupmuse Virtual Concert

A live virtual performance with community videochat and a Q&A with the artists.

Host

Groupmuse is rallying with all our might in this new age. We’ve organized over 150 performances, and we’ve earned musicians over $100,000 — all at a time when every major concert hall has closed. Over the course of these few months and many ‘muses, select players have really distinguished themselves not just with the high calibre of their performing, but also with the care and quality with which they’ve built their tech set up to ensure an absolutely superb listening experience. And that’s partly why we’ve been doing these Thursday Massivemuses - not just to cater to our vast West Coast community, but also to signal boost the cutting edge of our musician community.

And so, this Thursday night, we’ve got the electrifying virtuosity of prize-winning violinist Max Tan and (also prize-winning) pianist Mackenzie Melemed, with their state-of-the-art streaming setup and three splendid masterworks for violin-piano: the endlessly melodic 1st Violin Sonata by Camille Saint-Saëns; 250th Birth-year Boy Beethoven’s last Violin Sonata, his op. 96 in G Major; and the op. 23 Romance for Violin and Piano by Amy Beach, who was not just arguably the greatest American Romantic composer, but also one of history’s great women of this entire art form.

We’ll start with a Zoom chat at 6 PDT, move to a Youtube stream thereafter, and meet back in the Zoom for a Q&A with the brilliant musicians.

Can’t wait to see you there!
