Hello everyone! I am delighted to share music written for the instrumentation of two violins and cello! Jennyfer Norvell, the owner of JN Studios, has generously agreed to host this event. We will be streaming from Orlando, Florida.
Program Notes:
Opening the program is Mozart's 6 Ländlerish Dances, a short and charming set of variations on a Ländler tune. The Ländler is a lively Germanic folk dance in 3/4 time, and is considered an ancestor of the waltz. This will be followed by Boccherini's F major string trio, which will delight listeners with its skillful construction and tasteful melodies.
The second half is Andrew Popoff's Equinoxes and Solstices, a longer programmatic work with four movements. It is a piece of still, celestial harmonies interspersed with outbursts of exuberance and highly rhythmic, dancelike passages.
Performers:
Kyle Walcott and Nishad Vaidya, violins
Abigail Collins, cello
