The Joys of Conscious Listening and Other Dimensions…with Hsing-ay Hsu
Sat, March 12 7:00 PM, EST
There are a lot more layers to our inner landscapes than we will ever realize, but concert music can help us notice some of what’s there. The conscious mind is capable of attending at most six or seven things at once, while the rest of the nervous system is unconsciously performing thousands. What would happen if listening to music helps us connect to other people, places, times, and other censored parts of ourselves that we didn't know were there? When I expand my conscious listening through music, I expand how I listen to myself and to others, and I hope you will find this process meaningful and full of surprise associations!
