 ut--our first since the pandemic. And we're thrilled! The matinee concert 
 takes place on **January 8th** at the beautiful landmark **Sanders Theater
 **\, with a program that will leave you *erupting* to your feet.\n\nConduc
 tor **Emerita Gisèle Ben-Dor** returns to lead **Pro Arte** in a sweeping
  program featuring **American violinist Lucia Lin**—a member of the Bost
 on Symphony Orchestra and a professor at Boston University.  **Ludwig van 
 Beethoven**’s *Octet* is a playful suite in the tradition of wind band m
 usic popular in Austria at the time.  A century later\, the Venezuelan-Ame
 rican composer **Teresa Carreño** wrote a Romantic take on the Classical 
 suite during a stay in the Alps.  Her intoxicating *Serenade for strings* 
 conveys all the charm of the Austrian lakeside village where it was writte
 n.  In the music of the contemporary composer **J.P. Jofre**\, one hears t
 he tango of his native Argentina alongside the jazz of New York City\, whe
 re he now lives.  His violin concerto *Mauna Loa*\, co-commissioned by Luc
 ia Lin\, is a vibrant work capturing the immense power of the world’s la
 rgest active volcano.\n\nTickets to this event typically cost upwards of $
 40\, but we've got them for only $20 a pop (and $15 for Supermusers!) \n\n

 call table in the Sanders Theater lobby. As Sanders Theater will be assign
 ing seats\, groups wishing to sit together are instructed to purchase tick
