 e\n\nHello all! After a long delay\, harp-viola duo Eleventh Hour (harpist
  Violetta Maria Norrie and violist Jay Julio) is re-presenting a program h
 oned over the pandemic\, now ready for a safe & in-person show! We're exci
 ted to invite you to join us over at our favorite Inwood coffee shop\, Kur
 o Kirin\, for an intimate night of duos!\n\nWe'll begin with a Viola Sonat
 a by American composer and monumental figure in the NYC musical scene Ulys
 ses Kay. This work\, originally written for viola and piano\, was one of o
 ur first transcription projects. It's always a joy to perform it and ensur
 e its rightful place in the canon.\n\nFollowing the Kay\, we'll perform th
 e deeply romantic Fantasy Sonata by Arnold Bax. Bax's writing is character
 ized by many as evocative of both the English countryside and of Celtic cu
 lture\, which perhaps can be evidenced by his choice to write for viola an
 d harp\, two instruments championed by composers of each culture respectiv
 ely. The Fantasy Sonata is the first well-known work for this combination\
 , and if you haven't heard it before\, it serves as testament to the possi
 bilities of the instrumentation.\n\nWe'll also enjoy small bites and bever
 ages of all sorts at the show. Come meet new friends and hear music for a 
 rare but beautiful combination of instruments!\n
