 xploring the roots of the Danish String Quartet's local music tradition of
  Nordic folk music. Drawing from a similar inspiration to Wood Works\, Mar
 k O'Connor's Applachia Waltz utilizes musical influences from Scandinavian
  and Appalachian folk fiddling crafted in a classical music setting. We be
 gin our program with other genres of folk music that are unique and may re
 flect a different\, simpler time. We explore the works of pioneer Black Am
 erican female composer Florence Price's miniature essays in counterpoint b
 ased off negro spirtuals. Also featured are five of Komitas Vartabed's Arm
 enian dances. These melodies were collected from rural villages and act as
  a musical link between families of the Armenian diaspora and their home c
