  and new Groupmuse guests to our Glen Park home! We are so pleased to host
  for the first time at Groupmuse\, an amazing Colombian guitarist Alejo Co
 rdero - a new friend of ours along with his wife Julieth. We have heard Al
 ejo perform twice (he is pictured playing for my birthday dinner guests la
 st November)\, followed by much excitement and audience applause. His tech
 nical mastery of his specialty guitar (the bandola llanera) and his Latin 
 musicality is evident\, plus he is clearly in love with the joropo style i
 n which he specializes in concert performances\, and also teaches (he also
  plays all forms of Latin and classical guitar as well). Joropo is the nat
 ional music of Venezuela and also popular in the eastern plains of Colombi
 a where live the llaneros (plainsmen similar to the Argentine gaucho). The
 re is a gobsmacking folk dance to the genre (see at one minute in: https:/

 /www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZntuG_7xOk ). Often adorable young children perf
 orm it (see\, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRP19qEfEQI). We hope you en
 joy this most personable young Maestro of joropo as he describes his backg
 round and tells us a bit about a variety of Latin pieces he will play (fin
 al program to be announced). We bet you will be unable to keep from tappin
 g your feet - if not jumping up to dance a bit! Plan to arrive from 7 pm t
 o 7:30 pm for light refreshments (BYOB with your name on bottle)\; the per
 formance begins at 7:30 pm. Chairs available for everyone with advance res
 ervation. Great access to Glen Park BART stop (2 blocks away)\, the J Chur
 ch or Muni 36\, 43\, or 44 all near the BART stop\, and with fairly easy p
 arking within a block or two. We have three senior cats who will be confin
 ed upstairs and in advance we will suitably clean the performance area and
  refreshment serving space.
