 bout Andrey Tchekmazov**\n\nHailed by critics as an “extraordinary music
 ian” (Washington Post)\, cellist Andrey Tchekmazov is known for his vers
 atility as a soloist\, recitalist and chamber musician.\n\nMr. Tchekmazov 
 was the Grand Prize winner of the Vittorio Gui International Chamber Music
  Competition and the Premio Trio di Trieste and has performed extensively 
 throughout North and South America\, Europe\, Russia and Asia\, appearing 
 at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory\, Osaka Symphony Hall in Japa
 n\, New York's Alice Tully Hall\, Brazil's Sala Cecilia Mereles\, Sala Sao
  Paulo and Teatro Alfa with orchestras such as the São Paolo Symphony\, t
 he Moscow Chamber Orchestra\, the Brazil National Symphony\, the Kiev Phil
 harmonic and the Teatro Alfa Symphony. He has also been a top prizewinner 
 at the Koussevitzky Cello Competition in New York\, the Schadt Competition
 \, Artists International\, Premio della Critica in Trieste and the Russian
  Kobalevsky Competition.\n\nEver since his critically acclaimed debut at C
 arnegie's Weill Recital Hall\, Mr. Tchekmazov has enjoyed an active career
  as recitalist and chamber musician\, performing at such renowned venues a
 s Zankel Hall\, the Caramoor Music Center\, Barge Music\, the Rhode Island
  Chamber Music Series\, Bar Harbor Festival\, Merkin Concert Hall in New Y
 ork City and Hampden Sydney\, where he was invited to perform by the membe
 rs of The Emerson String Quartet.\n\nAs a performer with the Jupiter Chamb
 er Players in New York and at the Phillips Collection in Washington\, D.C\
 , Mr. Tchekmazov "impressed his audiences with a big\, warm tone and Russi
 an brand of virtuosity” (The Strad) by introducing them to rarely-perfor
 med jewels of classical music alongside the works of great masters.\n\nHe 
 has premiered works and worked closely with contemporary composers such as
  Alfred Schnittke\, Lukas Foss\, George Warren\, Ira Cremer and Ralf Ytreh
 us and has recently recorded the Cello Sonata by David Winkler and “Byza
 ntine Chants\, The Sacred Concerto for Solo Cello\,” by Margarita Zelena
 ia\, both which were written and dedicated to him. He has also participate
 d in ambitious\, unique projects such as performing Dmitri Shostakovich’
 s entire chamber music repertoire for cello at the Phillips Collection. \n
 \nAn active educator\, Andrey Tchekmazov has been a faculty member at the 
 Rio de Janeiro Cello Encounter\, the Lakewood Festival\, Russish Abend Fes
 tival in Germany\,  He has also performed at Westminster College and Brown
 \, Bowdoin\, Seton Hall and Princeton Universities. As an orchestral music
 ian\, Mr. Tchekmazov was appointed principal cellist of the Moscow Chamber
  Orchestra and the São Paulo Symphony. His performances have been feature
 d on WQXR\, WGBH\, NPR and other TV and radio stations across Eastern and 
 Western Europe and South America.\n\nBorn into a family of professional pi
 anists\, Mr. Tchekmazov studied piano and later cello at the Gnessin Speci
 alized Music School in Moscow. He continued his education at the Moscow St
 ate Conservatory with Mstislav Rostropovich’s protégé Nataliya Shakhov
 skaya\, and after he immigrated to the USA at the Juilliard School as a Le
 onard Rose scholarship student of Harvey Shapiro. He worked closely with m
 embers of the Juilliard and Guarneri String Quartets. Mr. Tchekmazov has m
 ade several recordings including recent releases on NAXOS and Da Vinci Cla
 ssics recording labels.\n\nMr. Tchekmazov was on the faculty of The Univer
 sity of St. Thomas\, MN\, and Illinois Wesleyan University\, IL.\n\n**Abou
 t Taisiya Losmakova**\n\nBorn in Brest\, Belarus into a family of musician
 s\, Taisiya started playing the violin at the age of 4. In 2010\, she ente
 red the Republican Gymnasium-College at the Belarusian State Academy of Mu
 sic under the tutelage of Professor Eduard Kuchinsky. During this time\, T
 aisiya became a laureate of international and national competitions and pe
 rformed as a soloist with the Belarusian State Philharmonic\, playing the 
 Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1. She also performed with chamber orchestras in
  Qatar\, Germany\, and Belgium\, and at the Musica Mundi festival\, where 
 she played alongside eminent musicians such as Maxim Vengerov and Misha Ma
 isky.\n\nFrom 2014 to 2019\, Taisiya continued her education at the Belaru
 sian State Academy of Music with Professor Regina Krivel\, serving as Prin
 cipal Second Violin of the Chamber Orchestra of the Belarusian State Acade
 my of Music. In 2016\, she won a position in the ensemble of soloists "Cla
 ssic-Avantgarde" of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society under the di
 rection of Vladimir Baidov.\nIn 2019\, Taisiya joined the Presidential Orc
 hestra of the Republic of Belarus\, was appointed Concertmaster in 2020\, 
 and held this position until her move to the USA in 2021. She recorded sol
 os for CDs of Belarusian artists and actively participated in the Tritform
 at Theater project as a solo violinist. Over the past several years\, Tais
 iya has gained extensive concert experience in various genres\, including 
 classical music\, chamber music\, pop music\, rock music\, jazz\, and thea
 ter music.\n\nAt the end of 2021\, Taisiya moved to the USA to start the n
 ext chapter of her musical journey and was accepted into the international
  class of Professor Eduard Schmieder at Temple University\, Philadelphia\,
  where she received her MM in Performance in 2024.\n\nTaisiya collaborates
  with esteemed ensembles and orchestras like the Manhattan Opera Studio\, 
 New Amsterdam Opera in NY\, Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra\, and Philadel
 phia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist\, she has captivated audienc
 es with the Collegium Musicum Orchestra in New Jersey. She has performed o
 n major concert stages such as Lincoln Center and the Kimmel Center\, and 
 has given solo recitals in various states\, including New York\, Michigan\
 , and New Hampshire. Additionally\, she was featured on the impressive alb
 um "Frozen Reflections" by Nina Siniakova.\n\n**About Jonathan DePeri**\n\
 nJonathan DePeri founded [Gotham Arts](https://gothamarts.net) in 2014 to 
 promote and present classical music artists through recitals in intimate a
 nd convivial settings\, providing a stage for music and artistry that migh
 t otherwise not be heard in NYC. A classically trained pianist\, organist\
 , and violinist\, Jonathan concertizes with a variety of vocal and instrum
 ental collaborators\, in particular focus on the German and Russian art so
 ng repertoire\, folk music including especially African-American spiritual
 s\, and chamber music. In 2018 he was named Honorary Assistant Organist at
  St. John’s in the Village for his ongoing contributions as organist to 
 both concert and liturgical musical programming.
