DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Parlando\nMusicians: \n\nWe're so excited that **Parl
ando** is welcoming back our Groupmuse community for a **Night Out** at **
 Merkin Hall**! \n\nIf you've never attended a Parlando event\, you'll unde
rstand why we align with their vibe! Like a Groupmuse living room concert\
, the music they perform is presented alongside fascinating lectures about
the music\, given by Parlando founder and conductor **Ian Niederhoffer**.
\n\nTheir upcoming program explores the question: "Can art make you a be
tter person?" \n\n"From promise to heartbreak\, this powerful program trac
es the rise and fall of a culture that once believed art could save it. Pa
rlando explores the story of German-Jewish life and identity through three
striking works: **Felix Mendelssohn**’s bright and joyful *Son and Stra
nger Overture*\, **Franz Schreker**’s lush and bittersweet *Birthday of
 the Infanta Suite*\, and **Richard Strauss**’s *Metamorphosen*\, a haunt
ing elegy written in the ruins of World War II. Together\, they paint a po
rtrait of hope\, beauty\, and the devastating betrayal of both German Jewr
y and Germany itself."\n\n*Groupmuse ticket holders are instructed to pick
up their tickets at Will Call immediately before the concert's start time
. Seating is assigned.*\n\n*There will be a free reception following the c
 oncert.*
