 dd is a prominent jazz pianist based in Washington\, D.C.\, currently serv
 ing as a member of The Duke Ellington Orchestra\, with recent tours spanni
 ng Japan\, Singapore\, Korea\, Israel\, London\, and Brazil.  He has a lon
 g-standing history as the pianist and leader of the Wolf Trap Jazz Trio\, 
 a group established by the late Keter Betts\, and previously worked as the
  pianist and musical director for singer/songwriter Kenny Rankin from 1995
  to 1998.   Redd frequently performs with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks
  Orchestra and the Charlie Byrd Trio\, appearing on Byrd's final recording

  is an internationally acclaimed jazz musician based in the Washington\, D
 .C. area who performs on the vibraphone (often called the "vibra harp") an
 d drums.  Born in 1958\, he has been a prominent figure in the local scene
 \, serving as an Artist-In-Residence at the Smithsonian Jazz Café from 20
 04 to 2008 and teaching on the faculty of the University of Maryland Schoo
 l of Music.   Chuck Redd has at least 25 European tours and six tours of J
 apan with artists like the Barney Kessel Trio\, Ken Peplowski\, and Terry 
 Gibbs.  Major Engagements: Featured vibraphonist with the Mel Torme All-St
 ar Jazz Quintet (1991–1996)\, a 15-year member of the Smithsonian Jazz M
 asterworks Orchestra\, and a performer at the White House and Carnegie Hal
