 The only pianist in the world who performed the complete Rachmaninoff solo
  piano works within the composer’s 150th-anniversary year in 2023\, **As
 iya Korepanova** is a pianistic powerhouse hailed as a "tremendously gifte
 d pianist who exhibits a singular affinity for Rachmaninoff’s Russian ro
 mantic idiom and possesses the blazing technique to fully realize his dist
 inctive scores" (South Florida Classical Review)\, who is also highly reco
 gnized as a composer\, visual artist\, and poet.\n\nA herald of an enormou
 s repertoire encompassing [over 60 piano concertos](https://www.asiyakorep
 anova.com/repertoire) and solo works ranging from early Baroque period to 
 music of living composers\, Asiya is a quintessential completist. She find
 s unique joy in performing complete collections of works such as the 24 Li
 szt Etudes or the entire Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach. Her emotionally ch
 arged and colorfully nuanced performances have gained her the admiration o
 f audiences and resulted in many repeat engagements.\n\nAsiya\, a pianist 
 and composer\, draws her musical inspiration from the legacy of Dmitry Sho
 stakovich\, having studied composition under his direct disciple\, Albert 
 Leman. She is the author of original works in multiple genres and instrume
 ntations. Her historic solo piano transcriptions of [Richard Strauss’ "E

 \n\nAn avid chamber musician\, Asiya collaborates with a wide array of mus
 icians. Her partners include David Shifrin\, the Hermitage Piano Trio\, Mi
 lena Pajaro-van de Stadt\, Svetoslav Stoyanov\, Giora Schmidt\, and Alexan
 der Fiterstein. She regularly performs as part of the *88 by 20* piano duo
  with her friend and former classmate\, Grammy-nominated pianist Ilya Kaza
 ntsev.\n \nUninhibited in her artistic expression\, Asiya is also sought a
 fter her work as a visual artist and poet. Her uncompromising dedication t
 o the arts have culminated in [several projects featuring original poetry

 serve as interpretive commentary for a particular cycle of piano works. Th

  most recently\, Mussorgsky's *Pictures at an Exhibition*. Asiya's live pe
 rformances of these compositions have astounded audiences and organizers a
 like.\n \nCaring about the development of society\, in 2017 Asiya founded 
 [Music for Minds](http://www.musicforminds.org/)\, a non-profit organizati
 on that brings classical performances into classrooms and creates music fe
 stivals featuring unique programming. From 2017 through 2019\, Asiya direc
 ted her brainchild Festival Baltimore\, a two-week chamber music series an
 d summer academy dedicated to the performance and study of complete cycles
 \, one of Music for Mind's projects. In just three years\, the festival so
 lidified itself as a highly original music series and academy\, presenting
  a wide array of styles and performers.\n \nBorn in Izhevsk\, Russia\, to 
 a musical family\, Asiya began learning the piano at 4 years old from her 
 mother Soreya\, her first piano teacher. At the age of 6\, she was taught 
 to read music in orchestral clefs by her father Sergey\, an exemplary comp
 oser\, and started composing her own music. At 9\, she made her orchestral
  debut\, playing Mozart's Concerto No. 8 with her own cadenza\, and gave h
 er first full philharmonic recital.\n \nSimultaneously\, she began studyin
 g composition with Albert Leman\, the chair of Moscow Conservatory's compo
 sition department and a student of Dmitry Shostakovich. She continued work
 ing with him until his passing in 1998. That short period has influenced a
 ll future aspects of her musical and artistic development.\n \nAs a result
  of her early bond with composition\, Asiya appreciates new music. In Russ
 ia\, she premiered three piano concertos by Vladislav Kazenin and Shamil T
 imerbulatov\, performing with the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra\, the Saint
  Petersburg Capella Symphony Orchestra\, the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra\,
  and the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra. In the U.S.\, she has prem
 iered various works by Michael Daugherty\, Thomas Sleeper\, and Orlando Ga
 rcia\, among others.\n \nThroughout her early years in Russia\, Ms. Korepa
 nova received various awards for her prodigious abilities. These include t
 he Russian Federation Presidential Award for Exceptional Achievement in th
 e Arts\, the National Award from the Republic of Udmurtia (2002)\, the Ger
 many Berliner Salon Award (2003)\, the Russia Youth Triumph Award (2005)\,
  and the title of Honored Artist of Udmurtia (2009).\n \nIn 2012\, Asiya m
 oved to the United States at the invitation of renowned pianist and maestr
 o Santiago Rodriguez\, to earn a doctoral degree under his guidance at the
  University of Miami. Later that year\, she was awarded the Gold Medal at 
 the Nena Wideman International Piano Competition — an achievement that p
 roved invaluable in establishing her concertizing career in the U.S. In 20
 17\, she added a University of Miami Artist Diploma degree to her portfoli
 o\, having earned it in the studios of Kevin Kenner and Tian Ying.\n \nAsi
 ya has since continued to garner national attention with performances at S
 tern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall\, the Phillips Collection\, and many othe
 r notable recital series\, symphony orchestras\, and festivals throughout 
 the country. She has been featured on CNN\, NPR stations\, WFMT\, and WETA
 .\n \nIn 2023\, Asiya embarked on a monumental project in celebration of R
 achmaninoff’s 150th birth anniversary\, performing his complete solo pia
 no music in six recital programs throughout the United States. She premier
 ed her latest transcription — the *Manfred* Symphony by Tchaikovsky\; to
 ured performing Clara Schumann's\, Grieg's\, and Rachmaninoff's piano conc
 ertos\; and anticipates the releases of scores of her compositions: the *P
 oéme* for alto saxophone and piano and *Con Brio* for two pianos\, as wel
 l as transcriptions of works by Mussorgsky\, Franck\, Amy Beach\, Fauré\,
  Berg\, and Bach.\n \nIn 2025\, Asiya makes her debut at the Tippet Rise c
 oncert series\, brings her beloved Amy Beach piano concerto to New York Ci
 ty in performance with Pegasus: The Orchestra\, returns to San Francisco P
 iano Festival\, Master Players Concert Series in Delaware\, Vashon Center 
 for the Arts\, Friends of Chamber Music of Miami\, MostArts Music Festival
 \, and others. In June\, she directs the inaugural [Flatiron Festival](htt

 She anticipates the releases of scores of her compositions: the Poéme for
  alto saxophone and piano and Con Brio for two pianos\, as well as transcr
 iptions of Manfred Symphony by Peter Tchaikovsky for piano solo\, and othe
 r works by Mussorgsky\, Franck\, Amy Beach\, Fauré\, Berg\, and Bach.\n \
 nAsiya and her husband Dmitry reside in a forest-rich Boston suburb\, wher
 e she has unlimited time and hours of the day to practice or listen to mus
 ic. She is an avid runner and hiker\, and an advocate for a healthy lifest
 yle.\n\n**About Jonathan DePeri**\n\n**Jonathan DePeri** founded [Gotham A
 rts](https://gothamarts.net) in 2014 to promote and present classical musi
 c artists through recitals in intimate and convivial settings\, providing 
 a stage for music and artistry that might otherwise not be heard in NYC. A
  classically trained pianist\, organist\, and violinist\, Jonathan concert
 izes with a variety of vocal and instrumental collaborators\, in particula
 r focus on the German and Russian art song repertoire\, folk music includi
