  Trees presents a new spring program of 10-string classical guitar\, inclu
 ding Debussy\,  Gismonti\, Sakura Variations by Yocoh\, and the Cuban love
 -ballad El Decameron Negro by Brouwer.\n\nCathedral of Trees\, a.k.a. clas
 sical guitarist Matthew Anderson\, works to rekindle the fusion of classic
 al and world music begun by Egberto Gismonti and other new world composers
  since the 1960's. Profoundly inspired by the Amazonian people and rainfor
 est\, Gismonti used a mix of modern and primitive musical elements to conv
 ey a sense of the beauty and complexity of the natural world. Drawing from
  Gismonti's repertoire as well as from other composers who blur the bounda
 ries between musical styles\, Cathedral of Trees explores the natural rhyt
 hms and hypnotic sounds of Brazil and beyond through the sounds of the gui
 tar.\n\nAmple street parking is available. Metro #5 or #44. Our house is h
 igh off the street and it's thirty steps to the front door. Attendees will
  be asked to make a donation (minimum $10) all of which goes to the musici
 ans.  Please bring any drinks and snacks you'd like to share. \n\nNote: Pl
 ease do not arrive early unless you have a special need and have communica
 ted with me.  Both hosts and musicians require preparation and set up time
 .  The start time (7:30) means that is the time you should arrive\, and yo
