 s.\n\nThis year marks the 100th anniversary of his birth and around the co
 untry\, arts organizations are celebrating the life and legacy of this gen
 erous giant and **our beloved friends at the Oakland Symphony are showing 
 up for the occasion and they want us to come along.**\n\nOn May 18th\, we'
 ll gather in **Downtown Oakland's** legendary **Paramount Theater** to wit
 ness Bernstein’s **Serenade after Plato’s “Symposium”  for Violi
 n & Orchestra**\, led by violinist **Liana Bérubé**.\n\nIt’ll be follo
 wed by **Tchaikovsky’s** enormous\, wrenching\, and desperately beautifu
 l **Symphony no. 6\, the Pathétique**\, often regarded as his greatest wo
 rk. \n\nIt’ll be a grand testament to the power of this art to illuminat
 e our inner worlds. \n\nTickets average $50\, but because the Oakland Symp
 hony and Groupmuse are cut of the same cloth\, **we’ve got a stack for $
