The Mostly Mozart Festival, 5 decades in, is undoubtedly the leading classical music summer festival in our great City. Top musicians from all around the country gather to form the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra and for weeks on end they rock Lincoln Center with their energy, their passion, and the sweet sounds of (mostly) Mozart that have been reverberating through the centuries. Last summer, we were humbled and grateful that they brought us along for a series of sold-out Nights Out and our community absolutely loved the experience. Well, apparently the love is mutual, because back to Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall we go!

This outing has considerably less than mostly Mozart, but it’s no slouch: The legendary Richard Egarr leads the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra (from the harpsichord, no less!) for an evening of the giants of the Baroque: G.F Handel and J.S. Bach. Handel’s beloved Water Music will bubble forth, as will Bach’s absolutely titanic Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, which features one of history’s first true face-melters of a keyboard solo, courtesy of Richard Egarr himself.

While the concert starts at 7.30, there will be a pre-concert recital at 6.30, also in David Geffen Hall, featuring guitarist Jiji bringing Bach, Paganini, and Albeniz.

Our remarkably wonderful friends at Lincoln Center have offered us a stack of tickets for both nights of the concert:

Friday, July 27th at 7.30 pm

Saturday, July 28th at 7.30pm

The list price for these tickets averages $60, but because it’s Groupmuse after all, and Lincoln Center is seriously good people, we have a limited quantity for $25 a ticket — more than 50% off.

But last summer, each and every one of these sold out within hours, so if you want to join, make haste!

And have a GREAT Night Out!
