San Francisco Performances

First off, from the whole Groupmuse team, we wish you a jolly-good New Year! May your 2019 be filled with joy, community, and sweet, sweet music.

Second: we’ve got a great way to ring it in. Our wonderful friends at the San Francisco Performances, who work tirelessly to bring the brightest talents the world over through SF have a great one in the works.

It’s an evening entitled, Brick by Brick, Changing America Through Song — a collection of traditional Spirituals and American classical songs, from Aaron Copland, to Florence Price — the first African American woman to have a composition performed by a major orchestra.

The concert is the finale of SFP’s PIVOT festival — devoted to artists and works laden with political urgency.

The evening’s talent will be the massively acclaimed and accomplished bass-baritone Dashon Burton, accompanied by pianist Lindsay Garritson.

It’ll be a soulful reflection on our country’s painful history — and a celebration of some of the great works of beauty that have been born of that struggle, as we chart a path towards a better world.

We hope to see you there! Tickets are typically $40, but it’s Groupmuse after all, so we’ve got a half-off stack at $20but it’s limited, so make your move!

And have a great Night Out!
