In the last gasps of summer, the San Francisco International Piano Festival prepares for its final and grandest incarnation of the season.
Now in it’s third year, the festival brings performances all over the Bay Area to celebrate the emperor of instruments, that 88-key giant, The Piano. The festival has grown leaps and bounds each year, and for the finale this year they find themselves in the legendary Herbst Theatre for a program of the Greats:
Mozart’s sublime and dignified Piano Concerto no. 13, and his every-bit-as-powerful concert aria Ch'io mi scordi di te, K.505 for voice and piano. It’s followed by Beethoven’s positively astonishing Piano Concerto no 4., and the evening and festival finish with Maurice Ravel’s light and profound Mother Goose Suite for Piano Four Hands.
The feast is brought to us by some of the finest musical talent this generation offers, and while tickets are listed at $40, we’ve got you with that half-off Groupmuse Night Out special: only $20! But supplies aren't infinite, so grab yours!
And have a great Night Out!
What's the music?
Mozart: Concerto No. 13 in C Major and Concert aria Ch'io mi scordi di te, K.505
