For decades, San Francisco Performances has been in the business of bringing the best and most brilliant classical music virtuosi through San Francisco to ensure that the Bay Area is never wanting for fireworks. And for years now, SFP has been opening its doors to our community, inviting us to join for a never-ending series of Nights Out. Well, they’re back for the season and our luck must run deep because they want us there on September 27th for a Friday Night Out!
Two dazzling pianists who could hardly be more different take the stage: Natasha Paremski, a Russian virtuoso who has soloed with many of the leading orchestras in the world (including the San Francisco Symphony) and Alfredo Rodriguez, one of the leading Cuban Jazz pianists of the rising generation.
They’ve programmed an ingenious evening of Ravel, Prokofiev, and Balakirev around a “call-and-response” pattern - wherein masterworks are performed, improvised upon, and synthesized into something totally new. Join for this eye-opening, heart-thumping exhibition of bringing the masterpieces of old into our present moment.
Tickets typically average $50, but we’ve got a nice stack for $20 — more than half off! But it’s limited, so if you want to join, grab yours!
And have a great Night Out!
