You will experience the classics as performed by this piano/cello duo, “Derive”, and listen as they morph into thoughtful, complex jazz compositions.
We welcome you to the inviting Living Room of our historic 1929 landmark home.
What's the music?
We strive for the experience of a journey for our listeners and audiences by creating a series of unfolding musical events during our improvisation. In order to achieve comprehensibility and extractable
meanings out of elements which people are familiar with, materials from classic rock/pop songs as well as classical compositions will be incorporated into the fabric of our improvisation. However, none of the members of the duo knows when and how these materials will emerge, neither do we discuss how they would interact with the improvised materials nor which parameters of a song shall
join the ride of the ongoing improvisation. In another words, everything depends on the specific improvised situation and narrative on the day of the performance. The entire show is freely improvised with no pre-scripted plans, with the only exception that if at some point during the show both of us arrive at an agreement that a song shall be presented in its relatively original form.
