About

Boston-based Quartet Credos is comprised of Ilana Zaks and Dongyoung Shim, violins, Deng Zhang, viola and Alexander Wagner, cello. The members are natives of Boston, Korea, China and Chicago and are currently students of Donald Weilerstein, Yeesun Kim and Marcus Thompson at the New England Conservatory of Music. Quartet Credos has received instruction from Merry Peckham, Donald Weilerstein, the Borromeo quartet, Donald Palma, Nicholas Cords and Paul Biss.

In December 2018, the group performed Beethoven’s Opus 95 “Serioso” in Jordan Hall as a conclusion to their participation in the highly selective Borromeo Seminar. In March 2019, the quartet had the privilege of playing in a masterclass with Peter Salaff with all the original members of the Cleveland quartet in the audience.
Individually, the members of Quartet Credos have performed in China, Korea, Europe along with the United States and participated in prestigious music festivals such as the Perlman Music Program
