Colombian Composer and Guitarist based in Portland, Oregon.

Daniel Reyes Llinás, born in Bogotá, Colombia, began playing guitar at age 10 while in his Augustinian school music class. Trained by Carlos Castilla, he later studied classical guitar under Jaime Arias Obregón and Carlos Rocca Lynn at Universidad de los Andes.

He has performed at prestigious venues including León de Greiff Auditorium, Luis Ángel Arango Music Hall, MAMBO, Museo del Barrio, MassMoCA, and the Portland Art Museum, University of Alaska as well as in Europe, North, and South America.

Now based in Portland, Oregon, Daniel performs with the experimental ensemble Ex.tra.di.tion. His albums include the experimental *String Schemas* (featuring Elliott Sharp and Harvey Valdes) and Códices, a solo guitar album co-produced by Trey Gunn and released on 7Dmedia. Daniel is a grant recipient of the Regional Arts & Culture Council and The Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

Music

Currently I am performing the series of the composition cycle "études" plus Latin-American music from the 20th and 21st Century included in my last record co-produced by Trey Gunn as well as works by Leo Brouwer and Ernesto"Teto" Ocampo". I also perform sporadically with the international guitar duet "Selva Espiral", dedicated to the Colombian-rooted aesthetic of "Paleo-Futurismo".
Other programs are electric guitar works by Steve Reich, Maria Valencia, Kirsten Volness, Ryan Francis, Ravi Kittappa and my own works.
