About

Diana Skobina is an award-winning concert pianist, collaborative artist, and educator. Originally from Uzbekistan, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at distinguished venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Musikverein Vienna, and Smetana Hall in Prague.

Diana recently completed the Professional Performance Diploma at Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Dr. Wael Farouk and received the Solomon G. Mikowsky Piano Scholarship. She holds degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and has developed a career that brings together concert performance, chamber music, and teaching.

Diana performs both as a soloist and collaborative artist, including with her husband, pianist Sergei Skobin, as the Skobin Duo, and with clarinetist Lourd Hadweh. She is passionate about creating meaningful connections with audiences and bringing the intimacy, spontaneity, and energy of live music into every performance.

Music

My musical world is rooted in the classical and Romantic piano repertoire, while also embracing contemporary works and music from my Uzbek and Central Asian heritage. I particularly enjoy composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Ravel, as well as lesser-known composers whose music deserves to be heard.

As a collaborative pianist, I perform chamber music with clarinetist Lourd Hadweh, including works by Brahms, Poulenc, and Bernstein. With my husband, pianist Sergei Skobin, I perform piano-duo repertoire including Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and works by Uzbek composers such as Suleiman Yudakov.

I love creating programs that connect beloved masterpieces with unexpected discoveries and bring together the universal language of classical music and the distinctive voices of different cultures.
