Violinist Dominika Dancewicz and pianist Andrew Schneider have earned recognition for their compelling, eclectic and thought-provoking programs that include significant classical music from every era, as well as jazz, broadway and pop. The Duo’s programming is always thoughtfully planned to communicate with the audiences beyond just the musical content. The ensemble creates contexts that introduce deeply affecting stories based on historic, social and emotional issues featured in the music they perform. Their first full-length album with Sonatas by Edward Elgar, W.A.Mozart and Claude Debussy was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, with reviews praising “warmth and sensitivity”, “subtle and nuanced performance” and “broad and expansive tone”. Duo Dramatique's second album "Crossroads" was released in 2021 on Navona label, with critics praising "fierce and thoughtful performances of genre-bending programs with an undercurrent of social and emotional issues".

Music

We usually perform classical music of eras and styles. We pride ourselves in including women-composers (Clara Schumann, Grazyna Bacewicz, Jessie Montgomery) and composers of color (William Grant-Still), and we engage audiences by creating "themes" where we highlight historic, philosophical or human ideas through music.
