KALEN is a dynamic performer and songwriter with two decades of experience telling stories from coast to coast. Her latest release, Velvet Night (Hi 4 Head Records), features six new songs and six acoustic reimaginings, accompanied by a zine of original lyric artwork. Named an artist to watch by Kaltblut and Ladygunn, she's been praised for her "power and vulnerability" (Impose) and "real character" (Relix). She has performed everywhere from Joe's Pub (NYC) to The Mint (LA), and also fronts darkwave trip-noir project Death By Piano, which has new music on the way.

I'm a songwriter alla Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell. I grew up listening to my mother's vinyl collection ranging from songwriters to folk, jazz and R&B. My solo project is indie songwriting steeped in these traditions.
