About

Zooey Cheng is a classical pianist and music educator based in Boston. She actively gives solo recitals and collaborates with instrumentalists across various venues in America and Asia.

Zooey received her BM in piano performance at Soochow University, Taiwan, and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at Mannes School of Music, where she studied with the prestigious Russian pianist Arkady Aronov. Zooey also received coaching from Heidi Louise Williams, Meng-Chieh Liu, Chih-hung Shang, and Alexander Sung during her studies.

In 2022, Zooey served as the piano accompanist for the New Amsterdam Boys and Girls Choir in New York City and collaborated with the Musica Viva NY Choir. The same year, she received a Steinway & Sons piano as a Teaching Artist.

This summer, she also worked as a collaborative pianist at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, engaging with students, faculty, guest artists, and the wider local music community.
