Welcome back!

"I'd like to write a piano piece of transcendental virtuosity, more difficult than Balakirev's Islamey..."

A masterpiece of impressionism, Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit is mount Everest of the piano repertoire. Ravel's setting of Aloysius Bertrand's poems is every bit as difficult and disturbing as it was in 1909, conjuring of world of nightly terrors, from water nymphs to a hanged man at dawn.

Listen to it up close for a hallucinatory experience.
