'Theme and Variations' movements are the perfect fodder for composers looking to explore wildly different facets of the same material, and are typically inventive, full of humor, and also quite dramatic. In this program we will be exploring Theme and Variations movements by the greatest composers- Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Schumann- looking at how each composer approached the material.
