Welcome to a continuation of the Max and Friends series! If you're newly discovering this Groupmuse, I make the two promises: the highest video and audio quality for streaming that can be had from the home (of course, I hope you'll find the playing to be just as superb), and to promote other wonderful musicians in collaborations that bring you music from my studies and explorations and creative programming. I love discovering underprogrammed gems and want to share them with you!
I'm excited to collaborate with pianist Ying Li, who I met at the Ravinia Festival a few years ago. In this 'Schubertiade,' we will feature the Schubert Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major, also known as the Grand Duo. It is dramatic, yet elegant and charming. In some ways, it previews many compositional delights in the Trout Piano Quintet. Around this, we have chosen other pieces that feature Viennese charm and encores. Please join us for this evening of calm, beauty , and warm company.
