This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Host

10 years ago, Sam Bodkin founded Groupmuse. 5 years ago, he found the ukulele, the Bard’s path, and a new name: Heavy Meadow. And, for the last two years, he’s been traveling the country, singing songs of Earth, spirit, place, and person.

Last year, he toured around his first show, The Fool, inspired by the first card in the Tarot’s journey, and that’s when he first shared his song at Wonderland — one of Bywater’s most dazzling expressions of New Orleans architecture. This year, he’s back with his next show — The Magician, inspired by the next card in the Tarot’s Journey.

And once again, a year later, he’s playing the backyard of Wonderland — songs around the campfire. And, as he does for every show in every community he passes through, he wrote a song to celebrate the host, the place and the gathering, which you can watch here.

If you’re looking for some intimate, folkish, gregarious vibes Thursday night, come by Wonderland — at the corner of Royal and Desire at 6pm!

And if you want to learn more about Groupmuse, becoming a host yourself, and the possibilities for Groupmuse New Orleans at the dawn of our next decade, that’s another great reason to come along!
