Probably the greatest invention of the modern era (!) was the piano. When new it literally opened ears until piano technique almost succeeded in closing them..... Well, join me in pretending you are hearing these wonders for the very first time. Young people aged 10 and up are welcome. I am working on getting an accessibility ramp for the service elevator which is 4 steps up from the lobby; regular elevator is undergoing reconstruction.

What's the music?

CPE Bach, eldest son of Johann Sebastian. Rebel, innovator extraordinaire. Sonata in A-flat (1742)
Mozart, the one and only: The "Easy" C major Sonata, K. 545; and the early F major, K. 280.

Where does this music come from?

All written when every sound of each work was in the category of never-before-heard. Cast your ears back into such a mode of wonderment. It has taken me a lifetime to outgrow the prejudices of over-familiarity in the case of Mozart, and of what-on-earth? in the case of CPE. Well worth the effort.
