Join us Sunday afternoon in the drawing room of San Francisco’s historic Century Club of California c 1905 clubhouse. Member and noted architect, Julia Morgan, designed some of the rooms in this building. Wine will be flowing and soft drinks will be poured while listening to the sounds of the Sony Holland Duo performing a tribute to one of the world’s most famous rock icons, Linda Ronstadt.

With her passionate voice and natural beauty, Linda was the reigning queen of rock & roll for over a decade. Her music dominated the airwaves and her big brown eyes graced countless magazine covers. Ronstadt remade classic Motown hits into her own and turned cuts by the Eagles and Jackson Browne into radio anthems. She took the reins of her career and battled record execs in order to do the projects she wanted, striking gold with every venture.

With a shimmering voice of her own, Sony Holland reprises Ronstadt’s iconic hits (Blue Bayou, You’re No Good, Different Drum) and also covers Ronstadt’s forays into jazz and Mariachi. Throughout the set Sony shares interesting stories of Linda’s ride to superstardom, her loves and her incredible knack for finding emotionally powerful songs. In close collaboration with guitarist/husband, Jerry Holland, Sony presents Ronstadt’s legacy with equal parts respect and unbridled joy. You won’t want to miss this show.

“Sony Holland was a joy to work with throughout. Her tribute to Linda Ronstadt was a home run for our audience who shared the following remarks: "This is one of the best concerts that I've seen in recent years!” -"This was so much fun, I cried.” - "Fabulous voice and band.” - “Beautiful music – lots of talent!” Kimberly Gordon, Cultural Arts Director Peninsula JCC

"Sony Holland's 'Songs of Linda Ronstadt' was an absolute hit at our venue! Sony's vocal prowess is a mesmerizing reflection of Linda's incredible talent and her band is fantastic. Not only did Sony deliver pitch-perfect renditions of Linda's classics, but she also shared anecdotes and stories that added a personal touch to the performance, making it a truly memorable evening. A really fun night of nostalgia. We can't wait to have her back." Stephanie Whigham, Tabard Theatre Company Marketing Director

What's the music?

Jerry Holland Guitar

Linda left her hometown of Tuscon when she was 18. The night she left her father gave her the guitar his father had gifted to him and said, “Ahora que tienes una guitarra, nunca tendrás hambre.” Translation: “Now that you own a guitar, you will never be hungry.” With her first hit, Different Drum, Linda proved him right. For over four decades, until her retirement due to Parkinson’s disease, everything she sang turned to gold.

I have selected many of my favorite Linda Ronstadt songs from her early country-rock hits to jazz standards and Mariachi. In between I share background stories of her famous musical collaborators, friends and lovers. The music is as emotionally charged and fresh as ever. You will delight in remembering Linda’s great versions of Rock Me On The Water, Blue Bayou, You’re No Good, When Will I Be Loved, Different Drum, Desperado, Silver Threads and many others.
