I'm looking forward to hosting the guitarist Luis McDougal with a program of Renaissance and Baroque music! Please join us for a cozy spring evening in my Harlem studio.

Doors open 7 pm, music starts around 7:30 pm.

This event is a collaboration with my baker friend who will bring delicious pastries to go with the music!

What's the music?

Luis McDougal (he/him)

Flute Sonata in A minor - C.P.E. Bach (1744 - 1788)
Excerpts from Missa Pangue Lingua - Josquin de Prez (1450 - 1521)
Come Heavy Sleep - John Dowland (1563 - 1626)
Flow My Tears - John Dowland (1563 - 1626)
5 pieces for orchestra, no. 4 - Anton Webern (1883 - 1945)
Stylized Improvisation

Where does this music come from?

The music I'm performing comes from a variety of traditions and time periods in which the music was not originally written for guitar. My aim is to share some explorations on beauty and the possibilities that electric guitar can offer with this repertoire.
