The Kritya ensemble will be presenting original works rooted in the ancient traditions of Kuchipudi dance/drama and Carnatic music, which date back over 500 years. Our performances are grounded in spiritual and social themes, rich with mysticism. Some narratives delve into the exploration of a woman's sensuality, symbolizing spiritual awakening and the transcendence of the ego, leading to a state of divine love and ecstasy.

Where does this music come from?

We also incorporate North Indian Hindustani music to highlight the universality of music traditions, embracing crossover music and dance. Yamini Kalluri's dancing is influenced by both ballet and modern dance, adding a unique dimension to our performances.

Our mission is to raise awareness and visibility of India's ancient traditions on a global stage.
