This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Host

Kev’s Place is super excited to announce our latest booking, an avant-garde jazz quintet featuring Ben Mizrach. His jazz quintet will bring in their original repertoire inspired in part by the legacy of avant-garde composers from whom they’ve studied: Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton, Ambrose Akinmusire, Jason Moran, and more. They’ve been playing on and off for six years in several different iterations, and the ensemble is a representation of their friendship and artistry as it has developed over time.

What's the music?

Ben Mizrach (saxophone), Ruby Farmer (bass) and Kabir Abdihya-Kumar (drums) will perform the music of traditional and avant-garde composers including Ornette Coleman, Anthony Braxton, Duke Ellington, and Albert Ayler.
