What's the music?

Including works by Chopin including the Aeolian Harp etude, Barcarolle, Berceuse, Ballade in F Minor, and more

Where does this music come from?

Chopin gave fewer than 40 public performances in his 39 years of life. Instead, his closest circle of friends would periodically receive last minute invitations to the chateau where Chopin and his mistress George Sand resided for a private soirée where the composer-pianist would play whatever he liked and for as long as he wanted to his enraptured private audience of poets, musicians, authors, and aesthetes. In this respect, Groupmuse's model of small intimate concerts in houses and apartments is a more resonant with the way original audiences heard Chopin's music than are traditional concert hall experiences. Come enjoy an evening in this vein– although in this case we will limit the music to 45 minutes!
