Hosts
Pianist Ian Scarfe is joined by Czech violinist Petr Mašek for a concert of energetic and lyrical classical works. The duo will perform one of Beethoven’s ten famous Violin Sonatas, showcasing not just Beethoven’s legendary dramatic flair, but also a charming sense of humor. Also on the program will be classical Czech and Hungarian works, including a set of romantic pieces by Antonin Dvořák and the wild and frenetic folk dance Czárdás.
Ian Scarfe is well known in the Bay Area and internationally for his artistry and skill at the piano. He is the founder and director of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival and is on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Ian is curator of Chamber Music at the Century Club and is the pre-concert lecturer at Chamber Music Monterey Bay. He is also artist in residence at Monument SF. For more information about Ian and to listen to performances, check out his website at https://www.ianscarfe.com/bio.html
