We're so excited to bring a program of two heavy-hitter piano trios to Los Angeles on May 29 at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Beverly Hills! A Steinway Ensemble, Ensemble132 is an American collective of soloists and chamber musicians who excite the imagination of audiences with their uniquely genre-defying programs, artist-crafted arrangements, and unparalleled artistry. This concert features pianist Sahun Hong (also a Steinway Artist), violinist Stephanie Zyzak (frequent performer at the Marlboro Music Festival), and cellist Zachary Mowitz (a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic). They will be performing a program featuring:
Saint-Saëns Piano Trio No. 1 in F major Op. 18 (1863)
Mendelssohn Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor, Op. 66 (1846)
Saint-Saens’ first piano trio, a sparkling and richly colored work which he wrote just before turning 30, couples perfectly with Mendelssohn’s celebrated C Minor Piano Trio, which offers both heavenly beauty and intense drama. We hope to see you there!
