Step into a night of bold ideas and boundary-pushing sound with Is That Your Final Answer?, the season finale from Earplay on Monday, May 25 at 7:30 PM at Noe Valley Ministry. Known for championing today’s most adventurous composers, Earplay closes its 41st season with a program that asks big questions—and isn’t afraid of unexpected answers. Anchored by the world premiere of Trevor Weston’s Time Pieces, the evening weaves together new works and modern classics in a concert that feels urgent, exploratory, and alive.

From Charles Ives’s haunting The Unanswered Question (reimagined for a striking contemporary ensemble) to premieres by Aida Shirazi and Edmund Song, alongside intricate works by Elliott Carter and Anthony Brandt, the program unfolds as a series of vivid sonic landscapes. Performed by a stellar group of new music specialists under conductor Mary Chun, every piece offers a different lens on time, texture, and musical possibility. With Groupmuse Nights Out discounted tickets, this is your invitation to experience the cutting edge of chamber music—up close, thought-provoking, and full of discovery. 🎶✨
