An Summer Evening with Ilayaraja is a live concert experience celebrating the timeless genius of one of cinema’s greatest composers, performed by vocalist Karthik S.
The program reimagines Ilayaraja’s iconic compositions, highlighting the lyrical depth and musical sophistication that have defined his legendary career in Tamil cinema. Drawing from decades of cinematic storytelling, these songs showcase a masterful blend of classical Indian traditions, folk sensibilities, and contemporary innovation.
Karthik S’s distinctive voice brings new dimensions to beloved melodies—from the haunting ballads that captured hearts in the ’80s and ‘90s, to the emotionally rich compositions that continue to resonate today. Gather at @5:30 PM to meet and greet the artist. Concert starts @6:00 PM. The setting is going to be casual with a mix of chairs, floor seating and lawn seating. You can also bring your dog as long as you can keep it under a leash and not disturb the artist performance. Kids welcome if they are able to sit for the performance without disturbance to the artist.

This is a potluck so feel free to bring a snack, preferably ready to share and not requiring any prep at the event. Chai and cookies will be served by the host.
