🎻 What happens when classical virtuosity meets Chinese folk music, tango, and rock? Meet ArcoStrum. This boundary-breaking violin-and-guitar duo takes audiences on a musical journey that moves effortlessly between East and West, tradition and reinvention. Violinist Strauss Shi and guitarist TY Zhang bring together the expressive sounds of classical violin and guitar, electric guitar, and traditional Chinese instruments like the erhu and bamboo flute. The result is a wildly imaginative program spanning reimagined Chinese folk melodies, sweeping classical favorites, fiery Argentine tangos, jazz, and even familiar movie themes. Expect dazzling technique, infectious rhythms, unexpected musical combinations, and plenty of moments that will make you hear these instruments in a whole new way.
Praised as a “first-rate ensemble among the new generation of performing artists,” ArcoStrum brings a fresh, adventurous spirit to the stage. Catch them Saturday, December 5 at 7:30 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, with Groupmuse Nights Out tickets for just $20! 🎶✨
