Re. the program, Daniel came over the other night and played some Scriabin pieces. I really enjoyed this. I'm not that familiar with Scriabin and found his playing and comments on the composer really interesting. I thought our guests might agree. So now the program will begin with a Chopin piece - an important influence on Scriabin, and the rest will be Scriabin with commentary from Daniel, our performer. Here is most of the program:

Chopin – Ballade No. 1 in g minor Op. 23
Scriabin

Preludes from Op. 11 No. 9 in E major and No. 10 in c# minor

Prelude and Nocturne for the Left Hand Op. 9

Poemes: Op. 32 no 1; op 59 no 1; op 69 no 1

Etudes Op. 8 No. 2 f# minor; and No. 12 d# minor...

Program

"Mostly Scriabin"

Marjorie, sometime yesterday I got a message confirming my RSVP. Can't find it in my mailer. Not sure why. I'm the person who had first heard of Groupmuse when I went to a recital with Sebastian Baverstam.

Please send address for this evening: I'm at [email protected] . Thx.

Daniel,

I've got a bit of a drive. If you have some way of contacting Marjorie so she can send me an address, please do so. Heard a great duo-pianist recital last evening - someone I've known for years, Paul Posnak was performing at the Yamaha Artists Showroom at 689 5th Ave. Great program, he was performing with Anita Castiglione. Paul's arrangements of Gershwin's songs (2 pianos), Souvenirs, a Barber Ballet Suite (four hands), The Carnival Procession form Lecuona's La Comparsa (2 pianos), selections from Gold/Fitzdale's arrangement of Rodeo (2 pianos), Gershiwin's Cuban Overture (4 hands), and an encore.

Lucky crowd. Shameless showing off on my part I guess, but enthusiasm does matter. My pic is below, in Black & White, with my daughter - I just don't have an address. Will contact Meg Fennel(sp?) she may also be able to contact Marjorie.
