Come to Agape Wednesday October 12th to enjoy beautiful tunes in a Historic Victorian Mansion Co-op featuring Alisa Rose and Tristan Scroggins

webpage: http://www.arosefiddle.com/a-rose-and-t-scroggins/

Alisa Rose and Tristan Scroggins stretch and combine bluegrass and baroque style improvisation to add to the growing lexicon of new acoustic music. With breathtaking technical virtuosity and knowledge of both traditional folk music and classical styes they synthesize music on the spot utilizing risky improvisation and innovative musical techniques. Their concerts present a study of both active listening and performance skills as they nearly psychically respond to each others spur of the moment musical colors and ideas to create a ever changing exciting performance.

Violinist, composer and improviser, Alisa Rose, www.arosefiddle.com, is a modern musician with roots in classical music as well as American traditional music. Alisa Rose has performed with diverse artists including Grammy nominated Quartet San Francisco, 2008 Rockygrass winners 49 Special, and the Picasso Quartet. Currently she is a member the Village Road Trio, the classical RossoRose Duo, silent film scoring Club Foot Orchestra, jazz/classical Western Territory Project, and funk/bluegrass hybrid Supermule. She has performed with diverse artists including Grammy nominated Quartet San Francisco, 2008 Rockygrass winners 49 Special, and the Picasso Quartet. As a former member of the Real Vocals String Quartet she appeared on Feist’s album Metals and performed and taught in Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Latvia, and Bosnia as an Ambassador of the State Department. RVSQ also appeared on Feist’s most recent album Metals, and on the Jay Leno Show. Other performances have included at Carnegie Hall, on NPR’s Weekend Edition, at the historic Carter Family Fold festival in Virginia, at TEDx Alcatraz with Bob Weir, on PBS “Song of the Mountains,” at the Blue Highways Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands, at the Rockygrass Bluegrass Festival, as well internationally including in China, Korea, Japan, and Turkey. In 2015 Alisa premiered Richard Marriott’s Metropolis Concerto for Violin and Wind Ensemble and released an album of cross genre virtuosic solo pieces Fiddle Caprices and Pizzicato Pieces. An experienced teacher, Alisa teaches young violinists at her private studio, and at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music preparatory department. Previously Alisa was director and creator of SFCM’s outreach string program at Starr King Elementary School.
