Host

Please join us at our home for an intimate and casual evening of live classical music and great people to benefit our Polish dance and cultural group, Lowiczanie (www.polishfolk.org).

It is our first time hosting and we are so excited to bring everyone together for a splendid evening! Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend, so please tell friends! There is a $20 entrance fee to support the group and we will have some tea and wine available, but please BYOB as well to ensure there is enough :)

The concert will be performed by the Polish classical pianist, Joanna Różewska and accompanied by the wonderful Russian cellist, Yulia Fomicheva.

Yulia will play few movements from Bach's and Reger's cello suites, and Joanna will play Andante spianato and Grande Polonasie Brillante Op. 22 by Chopin. Together, they will play two movements from Myaskovsky's 2nd Sonata for cello and piano and Beethoven's Variations on Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen from Mozart's Magic Flute.

Yulia Fomicheva is a cellist born in Moscow, Russia. She holds M.M from the Tchaikovsky's Conservatory and Gnesin's Academy of Music in Moscow. Yulia won numerous international music competition and has performed as a soloist and as a member of ensembles and orchestras in USA, Russia, China, England and Germany. She moved to the US in 2015 to pursue the Professional Studies Diploma program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and to gain orchestra experience at the SF Orchestra Academy. She is a member of SFCM Baroque Ensemble and takes part in many interesting music projects such as baroque music with electronica concerts in DNA Lounge in San Francisco. She is going to complete both programs in 2017 and looking forward for great opportunities to continue her career as a cellist in the US.

Joanna Różewska is a Polish pianist, currently living in California. Her repertoire features Chopin alongside lesser known composers. Her great passion is discovering the folk music influences in the classical music.
