From Carmen, the woman who refused to bend to the demands of society and men, to Isabella who saves the day and her lover, women in opera have been pushing gender roles for centuries. Join us for an evening celebrating these wonder women of opera performed by mezzo-soprano Kirsten Scott and pianist Laetitia Ruccolo and special guest Cellist Elad Kabilio. With arias by Rossini, Mozart, Bizet and many more, this evening will showcase the ways women in opera have powerfully propelled their stories, commanded the stage, and challenged societal norms.
