Come explore the warm sounds of period string quartet playing. We'll be presenting the ebullient galant quartets of Franz Xaver Richter (1709-1789), as well as some of the earliest known string quartet writing by Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725). Guest starring Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805).
Played on period instruments, gut strings, with gusto.
