This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Host

Russia's Georgy Gusev is making waves around the world, including Carnegie Hall. He comes to us highly recommended by other musicians. So... let's rock this Groupmuse!

This event is BYOB. We'll provide some snacks (feel free to bring more). Please have at least $10 cash to give to Georgy for his awesome performance and another $2 to us (the hosts) for our food, supplies, and cleanup costs (this helps us host more Groupmuses without burning out, so really appreciated).

What's the music?

Program:

  • J.S. Bach: extracts from Cello Suites
  • Jean Sibelius: Theme and Variations for Solo Cello (1887)
  • Giovanni Sollima: Concerto Rotondo (2000)
  • Georgy Gusev: 'Traveler's Diary', book of pieces for Solo Cello (2011-2019)

Georgy's new cycle of songs for Soprano and Cello will be premiered at Carnegie Hall on May 30th of 2019.
