This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Host

Enjoy live music at a Groupmuse event at the home of Carl and Daniel Williams-Lowery. We have enjoyed performances in other locations and enjoy hosting and sharing our home. The house is best for an adults only event. We encourage you to bring an appetizer to share before the performance begins or during the intermission.

What's the music?

A piano recital of two composers who focused their art on exquisite solo piano music. Scriabin, a one-time classmate and rival of Rachmaninoff, borrowed heavily from Chopin's work in his early style– but his mystical later style was a radical departure from existing musical norms, one to rival the harmonic revolutions of Schoenberg or Debussy.

Alexander Scriabin –
Etude Op. 2 No. 1,
Sonata-Fantasie (Sonata #2) Op. 19
Etude Op. 8 No 12
Poeme Op 32. No. 1
Sonata #9 Op. 68 ("Black Mass")

Frederic Chopin –
Berceuse Op. 57
Ballade #4 Op. 52
Nocturne Op. 27 No. 2
Ballade #3 Op. 47
