Historical context

Along with some of the most beautiful melodies, Bach is known as the ultimate master of counterpoint. This compositional technique reaches its summit in the writing of Fuga's (flight) where each voice is treated equally. In my program I present each fugue in the larger context it was written in and will give anecdotal as well as insightful details on each piece.
