About

Kimberly M. Zaleski, a native of Garrison, New York, is a classical flutist and piccoloist whose love of music has brought her across the globe. Presently, she plays in "IN2ATIVE" an avant-garde flute and cello duo, specializing in an array of musical genres that fuses the street rhythms of beatbox with more contemporary forms. IN2ATIVE is part of a roster of artists represented by the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning Agency.

She has performed under Maestro Domenico Boyagian in “Opera per Tutti”’s production of Puccini’s “La Rondine” and has played with the New World Symphony under the leadership of Christian Reif and Joshua Gersen. She is principal flutist of the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra. Kimberly has been a finalist of both Astral Artists Musical Agency in Philadelphia and also Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble ACJW Program at the Juilliard School.

Kimberly holds the distinction of being the first piccoloist ever to be featured on the nationally broadcast radio show “From the Top."

She was a student of Renée Siebert of the New York Philharmonic from 2004 through 2007. In addition, she studied at the Juilliard School under the instruction of Dr. Bradley Garner before pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University as a student of renowned soloist, Marina Piccinini. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where she pursued her Master’s degree under the tutelage of the Principal flutist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Joshua Smith.

In addition to her performance career, Kimberly enjoys teaching immensely. This past summer, she has served on the faculty of the Sitka Fine Arts Camp, in Sitka, Alaska where she worked with students ranging from elementary to high school, giving workshops and masterclasses. She is currently flute faculty at the Beck Center for the Performing Arts in Lakewood, Ohio as well as Birchwood School.
