About

Charlotte Mundy is a soprano with an adventurous streak, praised as "mesmerizing" (New York Times) and "remarkably arresting" (I Care if You Listen). With a repertoire that spans from Le marteau sans maƮtre by Pierre Boulez to rap cantatas by Doug Balliett, Mundy displays incredible range as a performer. She recently appeared in the Resonant Bodies Festival (NYC), Open Ears Festival (Kitchener, ON) and Constellation (Chicago) singing Morton Feldman's gorgeous Three Voices; and at The Bowery Poetry Club singing Schoneberg's Pierrot Lunaire. She premiered the long-lost art songs of cult icon Connie Converse at Le Poisson Rouge and participated in the first ever concert of all of John Cage's choral music as part of the Avant Music Festival. She is a member of avant-chamber-quintet TAK; guitar-voice duo Dodson&Mundy; post-prog-neo-psychedelic band The Knells; chamber theatre company New Place Players; and Ekmeles vocal ensemble. Mundy has a Master of Music degree in Contemporary Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She was born and raised in Toronto and is currently based in New York City.
